Paul is a working large-animal veterinarian and non-fiction author based in the NSW Australian Alps. He also holds corporate and government advisory roles.
His writing ranges across animals, science, history and human behaviour. From the maritime world of the Knights Hospitaller to the long relationship between people and dogs, the genetics of the supermarket, and the peculiar customs of a day at the Australian picnic races. Some pieces draw on decades of veterinary practice, others follow a question into unfamiliar territory. There is room for serious history, science and educated nonsense.
His essays have appeared in The Monthly. His history of The Hospitallers, In Perpetuity, is under contract with Porto Press.
