Off on a plane to the US again. Some much time in aeroplanes over the years. Love hate. Travel gets a bit much but feel very claustrophobic if get stuck in Australia without any travel..,
Beautiful sunny day at the farm Saturday. Down and back in a day to feed chooks, check cattle, fences etc. Trees cut down in prep for house rebuild so lots of new firewood. Spent some time sitting in the grass with new small mob of cattle, the ones that came with names; Bernie, Smoky & Gus plus a few more. They are ridiculously tame and spent the whole time sniffing and licking.
So a good time was had by all. Forge work to beat out the raw 1075 steel bar into a knife shape was hard work. Many blisters on my office hands. Grinding, sanding and finishing just took a long time. Finished articles were worth it though.

Off to a Japanese knife making course this weekend. lots of banging, fire and sparks expected. Will make two folded steel knives each.

I decided/discovered today that while I thought twitter was irrelevant to me, I now find it interesting but completely incomprehensible. I have no idea how it works or how I should interact with it...
So just back from quick trip to Queenstown, New Zealand. Industry investor conference. Good to catch up with friends and colleagues. Weather cold but clear and beautiful. Such a great place.
mmm, so after much dicking around with interwebs things I don't understand and technical support we are now live with the new macleman.com site! Not sure yet what I'm going to do with it, but we'll see...
